Massage Therapist

I have been a massage therapist at Fitness on the Park since 2001 offering both remedial and sports massage. I have been involved in athletics for 45 years and have been coaching since 1991, specialising in middle and long distance running, steeplechase and cross country. I am also a keen runner myself. As a special offer for Fitness on the Park members I am offering your first half hour massage for only $30 (normally $40).

Dr. Patricia Bishop

Dr Patricia Bishop graduated in medicine from the University of Adelaide in 1977. She worked at the Ingle Farm Community Health Centre, the Adelaide Children’s Hospital and the Queen Victoria Hospital, obtaining her Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1981. She has a full registration with the Medical Board of South Australia, is a member of the Australian Medical Association and a member of the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM). In 1998 after taking time off for children, Patricia began her association with Fitness on the Park as a consultant GP for the Healthy Weight Loss Program. At FOTP Dr Bishop practices traditional preventative medicine within a holistic framework. A full history and blood tests are often required, and treatment may include lifestyle changes and nutritional supplements.

Dr Bishop can also prepare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plans for people with chronic diseases, such as, Type 2 Diabetes and Heart Disease, to enable them to claim up to 5 services per year from Medicare to see an Allied Health Professional, such as, an Exercise Physiologist or Physiotherapist. “In conjunction with our Exercise Physiologist, and the other professionals at FOTP, we can develop a tailor-made personal diet, exercise & lifestyle program especially for you.”

Erin McNamara

Erin graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia in 2013. Since then, she has been working as a physiotherapist in the aged care and private sectors in metropolitan Adelaide, the Yorke Peninsular and the Limestone Coast. Always eager to learn more, Erin enjoys undertaking regular professional development courses which have included gaining qualifications in Clinical Pilates through Dance Medicine Australia (DMA). Erin’s focus is to not only treat injuries directly, but also work with patients to develop appropriate strategies and exercises to help prevent reoccurrence. In addition to treating conditions of musculoskeletal nature, Erin has a passion in dance-based physiotherapy having competed at national and international levels in a variety of dance styles. This keen interest has lead Erin to travel internationally to complete clinical mentorships with New York University’s Harkness Center for Dance Injuries and Westside Dance Physical Therapy allowing her the opportunity to work with students of the School of American Ballet.
